Prof. Dr. Ing. Nicolae Goga is a distinguished interdisciplinary scientist and educator, holding prominent positions at both the University Politehnica of Bucharest, where he is a full professor, and the University of Groningen, where he is a senior researcher in the Molecular Dynamics Group. His research intersects physics, chemistry, computer science, biology, and medicine, contributing significantly to the development of algorithms used in the Gromacs molecular dynamics package, employed by top universities and companies globally. He chairs the IEEE Blockchain Sections for Region 8 (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and serves as the Vice Chair for IEEE Standard P3228 for Recurrent Transactions using DLT. His contributions to ISO/IEEE medical device standards earned him the IEEE Technology Merits Award in 2011.
